Mets third base coach Tim Teufel is hosting his 25th anniversary golf tourney today at Tamarack CC in Greenwich. A total of 85 golfers, including 18 sports celebrities, are taking part in the charity event that benefits the Fairfield County Sports Commission. Teufel is back in his hometown of Greenwich to help raise funds for the Commission’s Chelsea Cohen Fitness Academy and its youth programs throughout the county. Headlining the list of celebs, which are slotted in each of 17 five-somes, is Mets pitching standout Matt Harvey, another Connecticut native. Also participating are Teufel’s teammates from the 1986 Mets World Series championship team, Ron Darling, Lee Mazzilli and coach Buddy Harrelson. The golf concludes later today with a reception, dinner and live and silent auctions. Stamford native and FC Hall of Famer Bobby Valentine is expected to attend the after-golf activities.
